However, full support from the management team and the wider Thrums family will of course be readily available. Additionally, in your role you will work alongside the full complement of reception and administration staff and registered veterinary nurses.

Our new premises in Scone is in a central location with a large carpark and is currently undergoing a refit. It will be spacious, modern and designed with the client journey in mind. It will be fully equipped with all the surgical and diagnostic kit required for you to deliver the highest standards of care in first opinion practice.

Thrums are proud to offer our own out-of-hours service to our clients which is provided by our team of mixed vets. In your small animal only role you will not be on the on-call rota, however a limited amount of in-patient care may be required. Some evenings and Saturday mornings will also be involved in the job role.

Scone is a small, vibrant rural town just outside of Perth and is steeped in Scottish history and folklore. It is a perfect base for young families and outdoor enthusiasts as well as enjoying all the benefits of city culture, facilities and nightlife just 10 minutes down the road. For people who already live in the area, you will know what a great place it is to live and bring up a family! Many of our team have come to Thrums for the job and have stayed for everything the area can offer.

We believe in a healthy work-life balance and having enough time off to enjoy the fabulous surrounding area and as such offer up to a fantastic 34 days annual leave, depending on working hours.

The right candidate will be rewarded with the support to pursue a career they aspire to, a competitive salary, RCVS, VDS and society fees paid and extensive CPD allowance. Pursuit of a relevant post graduate certificate would be actively encouraged. We are a proud member of XL Vets which gives our team access to a fantastic support network of like-minded professionals and continuing education.

Not every practice is the same in Perthshire and we are proud to say that we go the extra mile for our clients, patients and each other. Every member of our team believes that HOW we do things is just as important as what we do.
