Note: a general anaesthetic (GA) includes:

  • Premedication
  • Induction and maintenance drugs, specifically tailored to the individual
  • Constant monitoring, from premedication until recovery, with a fully trained and qualified nurse
  • Multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring equipment
  • Intravenous fluids
  • Immediate analgesia, including the latest advances in local anaesthetic technique where appropriate
  • Immediate post operative care including regular checks by nurses and animal care assistants
  • Feeding and toileting requirements
  • And hugs!
