Dog spay starts from £460, with the final price depending on your dog’s size and individual circumstances. Every spay at Thrums includes the general anaesthetic, surgery and post-operative pain relief. If you are considering keyhole (laparoscopic) spay, which starts from £655, it is worth knowing that the slightly higher upfront cost often means a faster, more comfortable recovery. Cat spay costs £158 and cat castration costs £110, both including the general anaesthetic, surgery and post-operative pain relief. Neutering is one of the most straightforward procedures we carry out, and most cats are back to themselves within a few days. If you are not sure of the right time to book, our team is happy to advise.

Dog castration costs £345, including the general anaesthetic, surgery and post-operative pain relief. There is no separate charge for the things that matter most. Practice Plan Extra members save 10%.

Dental treatment ranges from £300 to £900, and the variation is real rather than arbitrary. Until we have taken dental X-rays under general anaesthetic, we cannot know exactly what is going on beneath the gum line, and we would rather be honest about that upfront than quote you a figure that does not reflect reality.

Every dental at Thrums includes the GA, dental X-rays, post-operative analgesia, antibiotics and a follow-up appointment. We will always explain what we found and what we did before your pet goes home. If spreading the cost would help, ask us about our Dental Plan.

TPLO costs between £2,900 and £3,200. It is considered the gold standard for cruciate repair in dogs because it changes the mechanics of the knee rather than simply replacing the ligament, which tends to deliver better long-term outcomes.

Yes. We offer laparoscopic (keyhole) spay for dogs from £655. Because the procedure uses small incisions rather than a full open approach, there is typically less post-operative discomfort and a noticeably faster return to normal activity. It is a particularly good option for active dogs. If you would like to know whether keyhole is right for your dog, just ask at your consultation.

If your pet needs urgent care outside of our regular opening hours, a surcharge is added to the cost of treatment: £192 before 10pm and £225 after 10pm. Practice Plan Extra members receive 10% off.

A puppy vaccination course costs £99 and protects against a range of serious but preventable conditions. Completing it on schedule gives your puppy the best possible start.
