Every general anaesthetic (GA) at Thrums Vets includes:
  • Premedication and tailored induction & maintenance drugs
  • Constant monitoring by a qualified nurse from premedication through to recovery

A standard vet consultation costs £54 for pay-as-you-go clients. Practice Plan Extra members receive unlimited free consultations as part of their monthly plan — there is no limit on the number of visits.
Dog spay starts from £430 at Thrums Vets, including the general anaesthetic, surgery and post-operative analgesia. A keyhole (laparoscopic) spay is available from £615 and typically means a faster recovery. Practice Plan Extra members save 10% on all surgery.
Cat spay costs £147 and cat castration costs £105, both including the general anaesthetic, surgery and post-operative analgesia. Practice Plan Extra members receive 10% off.

Yes — Thrums Vets offers laparoscopic (keyhole) spay for dogs from £615. Keyhole surgery is minimally invasive and results in less post-operative pain and a faster return to normal activity compared to open surgery.
Out-of-hours surcharges are added to the cost of treatment. The surcharge is £179 before 10pm and £210 after 10pm. Practice Plan Extra members receive 10% off these charges.
A puppy vaccination course costs £99. Kitten vaccinations start from £95. Practice Plan Extra members receive all primary vaccinations included in their monthly plan at no extra cost.
