PNEUMONIA VACCINATION

Pneumonia vaccination programmes are underway on many units although most farms are now using single handling protocols, making use of Rispoval intra-nasal and other single shot vaccines. Although we try to carry a reasonable stock at this time of year please give us a call to forward order where possible. Most vaccines are available the next working day and as far as we are aware there are no supply issues this year. Rispoval Intra-nasal is now also available in single dose vials which should reduce the amount of vaccine wastage. Generally there vaccines have a good shelf life when kept refridgerated and unopened but once reconstituted they must be used within a few hours. Where possible we would advise against the use of Rispoval 4 in homebred calves as it can lead to false positive results in the BVD check test.
